Over the years, we have been in critical search of a suitable name by which a set of people who are keenly interested in nation building would be called. We needed an entirely new identity for people who wouldn’t mind going out of their way to discharge their patriotic responsibility without wavering at any point in time. We needed a distinct label for solution providers! We were looking out to getting a tag for need satisfiers! We wanted a distinct brand for result producers! So we kept thinking and searching until we were able to coin a special word which has never been used before and not available in any dictionary, lexicon, encyclopedia, and archives known to man. Can you guess the word? It is none other than loafbasket!
Loafbasket, though a relatively new word and concept, does not necessarily have its technical origin in this modern age. It has always been part of human existence though only in a rather silent and quiet mode. We could trace the origin of loafbasket down to the agricultural age. During this primitive age, loafbasket hid itself behind a nomenclature called breadbasket. Any piece of land which, because of richness of soil and / or advantageous climate, produces an agricultural surplus which is often considered vital for the country as a whole is referred to as breadbasket. Similarly in this modern age, we seek to use loafbasket as a unique identity for a set of people who, because of the potentialities of human mind and its faculties of creative imagination, produces socio-economic surplus considered adequate and efficient to bring sustainable development into reality. So, loafbasket is being used to describe human mind the same way breadbasket was used to describe a piece of land.
In this information age, human mind together with grey matter are indispensable tools for creating, processing, executing and distributing data and information. So the only way we could take advantage of this time and age to trigger data revolution geared towards solving socio-economic problems or averting imminent danger that could threaten the health and wellbeing of every individuals and our mother earth; is to birth an organized platform which will seamlessly network people across the circumference of the globe, circulating and instantaneously distributing processed data and information in such a way that it can be easily accessed by everybody as fast as dialing a mobile number on one’s cell phone.
Loafbasket as a platform gives equal chances and opportunities for people to air their views and discuss issues relating especially to the subject of development. Anyone (social class notwithstanding) who desires to put his mind to meaningful use in the interest of the society is therefore, a potential loafbasket! Remember, no man is empty or useless. Every man has an endowment that can benefit another man. Every mind everywhere possesses one skill or the other exclusively tailor-made to solve one problem or the other. A leper’s fingers may appear useless but his mind can build the world. Dare to be a loafbasket! Dare to be a solution provider!
